Each May, the theater community gathers for the presentation of the oldest theatrical awards in the United States. The Drama League Awards began in 1912 and were formally established in 1935, since which time they have gained national regard as the only honors selected by the theater community as a whole. Voting members include actors, directors, designers, producers, critics, audiences, and many other individuals with a personal or professional interest in theatrical excellence.

The Drama League Awards include recognitions for original productions of plays and musicals, outstanding revival productions, and the elite Distinguished Performance Award. The ceremony also includes honors for Unique Contribution to the Theater and Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater, as well as the Founders Award for Excellence in Directing. The League announces nominations annually on April 21st at Sardi’s Restaurant, with excitement building to the final awards luncheon. The 2015 luncheon is scheduled to take place on May 15 at New York’s Marriott Marquis Times Square.
Mr. Wirth will be in attendance with the sponsors he hs brought to the Drama League for the second year, GenSpring Family Offices and National Life Group. Both organizations work with Wirth and his firm and are strong supporters of The Drama League.
